Basics
Name: Pansy Evadine Parkinson Nickname: Pansy, Pans Birthday: 22 June, 1980 House: Slytherin Year: 7th Blood: Pure Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Extracurricular Activities: Nearly all of Pansy's activities are extracurricular, aside from her duties as Head Girl, as she absolutely loathes classes and has no patience for studying. She spends an inordinate amount of time gossiping and plotting the downfall of her fellow students, even if she doesn't act out on those plots, and planning her social life once she escapes Hogwarts.
Appearance
Pansy is small, at least in appearance. At barely 5'2", she makes up for her stature and build with an ungodly amount of self-confidence, which comes across in her exquisite posture and careless smiles. Given her unforgiving personality, it is an odd quirk of fate that she is more likely to grin at a stranger or acquaintance than frown. Perhaps it is not so odd when one considers how guarded Pansy is with her emotions (in public, anyway); if one manages to catch her in any emotional state other than the one she considers most appropriate to the situation, it's quite the rarity. Though she was certainly born with the personality of a redhead, Pansy's hair is closer to the brown side of auburn. It is as unruly as she is, however, and she often employs Daphne in its taming and to add the occasional splash of color. Pansy dresses well at home, as befits a young lady of her station; at school, however, she takes a few more liberties with her clothes and jewelry, preferring the flashy to the tasteful. She likes attention, and its obvious from the way that she walks to the way that she dresses. Pink is her color of choice, but Pansy will wear anything that attracts attention (though nothing risque).
Personality
What is there to say about Pansy? She is a queen bee and she knows it; whether it's her bloated ego, need for attention, or absolute ruthlessness in getting her way, she is every inch the Slytherin princess. There are few people to whom she grants her affections, but when she does she is fervently warm. It is not in Pansy's nature to be reserved, and for years she was well known for being hot tempered, loud, and sharp with her tongue. Arrogant, brash, and cunning, Pansy is the epitome of Slytherin values. Despite her mediocre grades and unconventional appearance, she is in no doubt of her own abilities, particularly in the area of leadership. With or without her girlfriends in tow, Pansy is more than willing to throw barbs at those she despises, when she knows she won't get caught. Maturity and social etiquette have not softened Pansy's personality any, but as she starts her seventh year, she is more inclined to the subtle nuances of social pettiness than shrieking aggravation.
Key to Pansy's personality, however, is her abhorrence of the deviant. She cannot bear those who do not act in accordance with expected social behavior just as she cannot bear those who don't uphold the values of purism and traditionalism - this includes, but is not limited to, muggleborns, blood traitors, feminists, and the French.
Likes
Pansy's likes are as varied as her dislikes aren't; in following the trend of social conformity, she happily adores pink, unicorns, fuzzy animals, and cute clothes. In keeping with purist ideals and her social status, she also likes purity, money, and the power both bring. Politics interest her more than she'd ever admit, and though Pansy would never go into politics herself (far too messy), she is already preparing herself to enter a social life where she will be able to manipulate politicians through funding. The only classes Pansy could claim to like at all are herbology, divination, and charms.
Dislikes
Pansy dislikes social deviance of any kind, as well as those who encourage that sort of thing. She also dislikes mudbloods, as she feels they are negatively impacting wizarding culture (which she has been raised to revere). Classes are high on her list of dislikes, trumped only by homework.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Pansy Parkinson was born to understand people - their motivations, their buttons, what they need and how she can provide it. Coupled with an excellent upbringing and social training, it was only natural that she became the unchallenged leader of her social clique. She would also consider her ability to manipulate, agitate, and ruin people a tremendous strength, but the rest of the world (or, at least, those she considers her friends) is glad that Pansy has an immense propensity for loyalty as well, for she will do anything for those she deems worthy.
Pansy's weaknesses are far more interesting however; though often cold, calculating, and precise, she has a tendency to the histrionic. She's calmed somewhat since her earlier years, but her shrieking laughter is well known throughout the school, as are her tantrums and fits of rage in-house. Though she treats those around her with the utmost forethought, she is incapable of treating herself (or those she dislikes) with the same patience, and despite her outward imperturbability or cold resolution, she is easily infuriated or depressed. If that anger is a weakness, so too, certainly, is her utter vindictiveness. She cannot let a slight go, and forgiveness smacks of mere lip service even when she does grant it. Emotional fervor aside, Pansy's most tangible failure is in her studies.
Past Relationships
Relationships are a difficult business for a woman of Pansy's social standing and breeding; she is, after all, fully expected to marry only the best, the purest, and the wealthiest suitor that the wizarding community can offer. As such, Pansy's parents certainly did not trust the judgement of their rather precious (and histrionic) young daughter and forbade her to grant her affections upon any young man, no matter how worthy she insisted him to be. She is seventeen now, and her parents have loosened their grip (if only slightly). There are rumors, of course, of a history between Pansy and Draco, but at best this is mere speculation, and at worst idle gossip.
Goals and Motivations
Pansy desires nothing more or less than power, in any form she can get it. School holds little interest to her other than an excellent training ground for the sort of social viciousness she will have to employ and endure in the "real world." The power she has been given by Headmistress Lestrange is but a taste of what she desires in the long run. She wants money, influence, and a powerful husband - and she'll do just about anything to get precisely what she wants.
Allegiance
Pansy is very firmly aligned with the death eaters; she considers herself too refined to appreciate violence, but she certainly upholds their ideals and beliefs and believes that their violence is justified and necessary. After all, she might point out, one person's terrorists are another person's freedom fighters. Though she is not in a position to become a death eater herself (she is far too socially inclined), she is more than willing to use what will one day be her fortune to support them financially, as well as politically.

Family
Parents: Ackerly and Leandra (nee Gamp) Parkinson
The Parkinson line stems from Yorkshire, and has remained consistently neutral in all muggle-related issues; however, Leandra's marriage into the Parkinson line effectively molded Ackerly into a far more staunch (albeit silent) supporter of the Dark Lord. Leandra's loyalty to anti-muggle sentiment and purism has been the driving force in Pansy's own sentiments, and the family's generous financial contributions to The Cause was enough to solidfy their loyalty to those that matter.
Siblings: None. Pansy was meant to be one of many, but after the miscarriage of what would have been Pansy's younger brother, her mother refused to try for any more children
Relationships with parents: Good; Pansy is a dutiful daughter and is very close to both of her parents, though she is sensitive to criticism by her mother, who occasionally interferes when she feels it necessary to her daughter's social reputation.
History
Pre-Hogwarts [1980-1991]
Like many of her contemporaries, Pansy was brought up in the aftermath of a great war. However, unlike the mudbloods and traitors that rejoiced in this "brave new world," the Parkinsons (particularly Leandra Parkinson) took great care to instill in their daughter the kind of traditional values that would befit a young lady should another revolution ever take place. Pansy was subsequently trained to behave in the manner of the upper echelon - the elite - of pureblooded society. However, years of spoiling and an environment of snobbery and prejudice have long quashed any sense of compassion, charity, or justice that may have otherwise arisen from such training.
Pansy became acquainted with other children of proper status at an early age, and she quickly rose in the social pecking order, displaying her natural predilection for leadership and establishing herself as a forward, confident ally.
Hogwarts [1991-1997]
It didn't take long for the Sorting Hat to realize that this arrogant, petty, and prejudiced girl belonged in Slytherin. Once there, Pansy simply reclaimed her position as top girl among her friends and proceeded to reign her year alongside Draco. She quickly established and nurtured a hatred of Hermione Granger, which rapidly extended to Harry Potter (especially after his ridicule by Professor Snape in their first class) and Ron Weasley (by proxy). Enjoying her status and ruining the lives of her enemies became Pansy's top priority, with her studies running a slow second.
Pansy's relationship with Draco was an odd one; though she was singularly offended if anyone so much as looked sideways at him, and though she was seen publicly with him at the Yule Ball in fourth year, there was never anything particularly romantic between them. It was an attraction (on her part) of propriety, admiration, and social expectation. It was natural for her to gravitate toward the alpha male, and so she did. Pansy's outright admiration of Draco during sixth year, when she discovered he had been given a task by the Dark Lord, was founded from a naive pride. It was his actions (despite how unsuccessful they were later) that cemented her own certainty that support of the Dark Lord was just and right.
Pansy's seventh year is one she expects to be highly successful. Her studies are, as always, a necessary bane, but she has been given a position of responsibility that is sullied only by the fact that she must share that responsibility with Ronald Weasley, the most despicable of blood traitors. She could not feel any more victorious about the death eaters' takeover of Hogwarts, and she considers the new Headmistress to be of the utmost quality. With no suspicion of Snape's real loyalties and the pleasant surprise upon discovering Professor McGonagall's, Pansy fully believes she is in a position to 'rule the school,' as it were.
